Hey, Camp Folks!

At Everything Summer Camp, we strive to provide our customers with only the best selection in camping gear. Shop superior quality from trusted brand names like Speedo, Burt’s Bees, and Smartwool on our eclectic online store. And we just recently made an exciting addition to our excellent brands we offer! Now find Under Armour products on our shop.

Founder of Under Armour, Kevin Plank was a former special teams captain wUnder Armour is our latest addition to our awesome camping gear brands.hen he played for University of Maryland. He took an idea that he initially had on the football field one day and turned it into a revolutionary industry that would forever-change the clothing that athletes wore!

Back in his playing days, Plank hated having to change his sweat-soaked cotton T-shirts over and over again during two-a-days—that is, when a team or individual player trains twice at two different times throughout a single day. He wanted performance wear that would see him through his games, his practices, and his workouts.

Determined to find a solution, he eventually decided to set out to create his own. He embarked on massive research and discovered the athletic benefits of synthetic fabrics. And, from there, he designed a T-shirt that he engineered with moisture-wicking performance fibers. The shirt was made to keep athletes cool, dry, and light in the most brutally hot conditions.

It was the first HeatGear® Tee. By the time he turned 23, he had unofficially launched his new company which he appropriately named Under Armour. The business may have operated from out of his grandmother’s basement and he may have traveled the East Coast, selling his T-Shirts from the trunk of his car, but he knew he had started something big.

After his first year, Kevin generated $17,000 in sales! The next year, he went to work developing his next invention—ColdGear® fabric to keep athletes warm and dry and light. Soon after, he came out with his AllSeasonGear® clothing line. By the time he was 25, Kevin moved into new headquarters and warehouse (a step up from his grandmother’s basement).

Kevin Plank recognized a problem and when he couldn’t find a solution—he created one. Through hard work and a good amount of determination, Kevin took his desires and made a difference in the comfort that athletes can dress in during their performances. Check out our wide selection of quality clothing and other camping gear from Under Armour right here. And, as always, thanks for reading!

Hey, Summer Campers!

We’re sure to offer Choose Your Own Adventure Books for the simple fact that kids—whether they’re bookworms or not—devour these books like candy! The fourth-bestselling series for kids ever published, Choose Your Own Adventure books give kids interactivity with choices that lead to different outcomes. But how did this great concept for books come to be?

Well, it all started at summer camp...The Choose Your Own Adventure Brand puts out amazing books and adventures!

Ray Montgomery worked with his wife, Shannon Gilligan. Knowing the importance of experiential learning, they introduced their boys, Anson and Ramsey, to the world of summer camp on Lake Champlain! Though Ray never did attend summer camp as a camper, he became a camp counselor at the famous summer camp of Pine Island in Maine.  Behold!--Adventure #1 in the CYOA series!

It was there that Ray first realized that interaction in education was essential to helping kids learn and read. After his days as a counselor, he established his own summer school to introduce kids to similar activities that he imparted at Pine Island.

Devoting a great deal of time and effort to studying the benefits of experiential learning and game theory, Ray eventually came across the idea for books that, in his words, put kids “in the driver’s seat.” Choose Your Own Adventure Books are the only books where the plotline depends on choices that the reader makes. Growing since their start in 1979 check out titles from this series for yourself!

Escape to worlds of intriguing and interactive tales in science fiction, fantasy, and adventure where the ending of the story depends on decisions that YOU make! Then, ‘reread’ the story making different decisions and the story’s outcome will turn out entirely different! Perfect for rainy days and reading before bed, have a look through our excellent selection of the adventures in this book series. And, as always, thanks for reading.

You’ve Got a Friend..

Hey, Camp Fans!

The world is certainly camp crazy. From singer/songwriters to famous athletes and big-name Hollywood stars, it seems EVERYONE goes to camp! Writers—such as myself—are no exception. I, however, am not famous. Marta Kauffman, on the other hand, is a name that lots of people know. Co-creator of the hit sitcom ‘Friends’, Marta Kauffman is responsible for a cultural craze that became popular the world over.

Marta Kauffman made tons of friends at summer camp!Long before Marta joined forces with David Crane—her co-creator of ‘Friends’—she attended summer camp at Camp Ramah in the Poconos. This camp has sat on 90 acres of northeastern Pennsylvania for nearly 70 years as it saw its beginning as a camp site in the year 1950. This mountainous and woodsy setting provided Marta with a space where she work on personal growth by means of fun activities and adventures, as well as friends to share the experiences.

She went to school at Marple Newtown High School near Philadelphia and became incredibly interested in acting—so much so that in her senior year, she directed her school’s production of ‘Our Town’, a play from 1938 by Thornton Wilder. She enjoyed her own independent studies when it came to the works of playwrights and had a great appreciation for the talent for acting.

After high school, she attended Brandeis University where she continued her dedicated study to the Theater. And after four years of hard work and relentless studying, she graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree and went on to pursue a writing career in the world of television.

Starting with a single episode of ‘Everything’s Relative’ in 1987, Marta continued to work on quick single-episode jobs as well as co-creating a few different series. It took her seven years in TV until she and David Crane launched their breakthrough series, ‘Friends’. Their show reached enormous popularity and ran for an entire decade before hitting their widely-celebrated finale.

Marta kept up her writing career after ‘Friends’ and has remained busy to the present day with her current TV show ‘Grace and Frankie’. Camp Ramah put Marta on an awesome and determined path that stuck with her all throughout her life. Perhaps Camp Ramah sounds like a good match for your soon-to-be-camper. Check them out on their website right here and, as always, thanks for reading.
