What Makes Camp Towels Special

Camp towels are a much better item to pack for summer camp than the traditional bathroom towels you use at home. Camping towels are made using unique materials to take up less space than a normal towel while still drying faster.

This makes camp towels more useful at summer camp and better suited for outdoor adventures like hiking or water activities.

The Next Best Towel? A Beach Towel?

Beach towels are oversized, but still thinner than typical bath towels and make for great seating outdoors at summer camp.

Many friends have been made sharing a towel on the lake beachfront or looking at the stars at summer camp. They also make for great shoe mats outside of a tent or as a soft touch to the cabin floor next to your bunk.

Campers enjoy that beach towels feel more like bath towels than camping towels and provide similar comfort without being as bulky to pack.

Towels from Home

Campers can always pack bath towels from home for camp. It’s important to keep in mind you may have to modify those towels though. For example, many camps ask that clothes and linens that enter the camp wash be labeled with a clothing stamp or name label. 

If you’re worried about having to modify your home bath towels or having to use them after your camper returns home, we recommend instead purchasing towels for the trip. 

Dedicated camp towels can be saved for next year’s summer camp adventure or be turned into chore towels once back home.
