Soft Trunks

Soft Trunks

While we always recommend a hard trunk, if a hard trunk just isn’t doable for you, a soft trunk is the next best thing. Soft trunks are designed to be lightweight, convenient, and make your travel organization easy.

Pop-Up Soft Camp Trunks

We invented the pop-up soft camp trunk when we realized there were camps that couldn’t allow hard camp trunks due to travel limitations and vehicle weight restrictions. We developed our soft trunk with the same lifelong knowledge and summer camp experience that we used to create our hard camp trunks. It’s the best of both worlds between a duffle bag and a camp trunk.

Advantages of Soft Trunks

Soft trunks have a number of advantages for summer camp and travel for kids. These pieces of luggage are more manageable in size and weight for transportation, and all soft trunks come with built-in organization options. Our pop-up soft trunk has wheels built in for easy transport as well as a lid organizer and multiple pockets. These aren’t the only advantages that soft trunks offer though. One of the biggest advantages of soft trunks is their flexibility.

Flexibility

While all soft trunks have a maximum amount you can pack, the less you pack the lighter your soft trunk is, and the more mobile. While removing items from your hard trunk would lighten it, it would never be easy to carry for a hike through the woods. This gives your soft trunk flexibility to be used as an overnight pack as well A lightly filled soft trunk or duffle can be used as a potential day pack, or even for a short hike in a pinch. While a hard trunk will always be more durable, it can never offer that kind of flexibility.

Easy Storage

Once you’re done transporting your gear, and either laying it out at camp or putting it away back home, soft trunks are much easier to store when not in use. They can be folded up and stored in any number of small places. While we recommend using hard camp trunks for storage of out-of-season clothes or other items, these trunks still do not change size in storage and will need a space that’s out of the way.

Lightweight & Portable

Soft trunks will always be the lightest and most portable option when it comes to packing clothes and gear for camp. Often soft trunks feature other easy travel features like wheels, collapsible handles, and multiple straps, including backpack straps at times. These features make soft trunks and duffles viable for a variety of uses both during and after summer camp.
