Sarah B. does the Camp Thing!

Hey, Camp Kids!

We love our annual ‘Share Your Camp Story’ Contest at Everything Summer Camp and with the turnout we saw, this has been the best year yet! Your stories were great and it was such a fun time reading through them. Get a look at each submission as I post them one-by-one right here on the Blog!Jacobs Camp is a home away from home--but don't take Sarah B.'s word for it!

Today’s post is from Sarah B. who wrote in to tell us about her time home away from home at Jacobs Camp. See her account of this year at summer camp right now:

When I arrive at Jacobs Camp each June the say ‘Welcome Home’ because it really is like going home. I’m in the 8th grade now and have been going to Jacobs regularly since the summer after 1st grade. I love it. There’s nothing I don’t like. I’m now in the age group where I pick a speciality camp. I’ve chosen Adventure the past couple of years. Staying outside and climbing the tower, making pita bread, doing archery, tennis, etc. is so much fun. What I like most about Camp is being with my friends each year and learning more about them and forming lifelong friendships. I go to a Jewish camp. We learn a little about our religion while having a blast. Shabbat is special, yet so much fun. This past summer was my favorite year yet and I didn’t want him come home after my 3 and a half week session. Sure I missed my family a little, but I was having so much fun the time flew by and I really didn’t even think about being away from my actual home. I cannot wait for next summer at Jacobs Camp! I cannot wait to hear the words ‘Welcome Home’.”

Glad you have such a fantastic time Jacobs Camp, Sarah! It’s great to hear that you have so many friends there—but it Jacobs Camp is Home, then I guess your friends are sort of your family! We’ll call them your camp family. Sound good? Thanks for sharing your love for camp, Sarah. And for anybody else interested in Jacobs Camp, give it a closer look for yourself some time and, as always, thanks for reading!
