Get a Good Look at Camp Nor'Wester

Posted on

Hey, Camp People!

We here at Everything Summer Camp consider ourselves more than just your summer camp gear supplier and we hope that you feel the same. After all, we do our best to go above and beyond simply selling summer camp gear; we want to help point you in the right direction of what you can get out of the summer camp experience, we try to give you a glimpse of what the summer camp lifestyle is like, and we try to introduce you to camps that are potentially a great fit for your camper in particular.

C&N Camp Trunks are certainly the camp container of choice!

One way we try to help is through posting these Summer Camp Spotlights on the Blog. These posts give a virtual, little tour of the great camps with whom we’ve created helpful relationships! And today, we’re swinging our spotlight over to the West Coast on John’s Island in Washington State to show you around Camp Nor'Wester.

Their one-of-a-kind property features 135 acres of breathtaking landscapes. With more than 10,000 feet of saltwater shoreline, the area includes wetlands, open meadows, and diverse forests. The old Nell Robinson Ranch at the west end of Johns Island, in the San Juan Islands of Washington State, Camp Nor’Wester now proudly sits on this ancestral land of specific Native tribes. With respect, the camp  acknowledges the previous owners of the land and shows its gratitude for their stewardship.

With great facilities on their land, Camp Nor’Wester offers a slew of cool activities! Take advantage of their great waterfront with fun activities like Swimming and Sailing. Test your adventurous side with their Ropes Course and Climbing Wall. You can test your skills in Archery and get competitive with games like Soccer, Frisbee, and Capture the Flag. And enjoy quieter activities like Watercolor in the Craftshop or Nature Journaling in some peaceful outdoor setting.

Nor’Wester is more than accommodating for their campers, offering them the awesome experience of living in a canvas tent. Nor’Wester tipis and tents are built upon wooden platforms and house four campers each. Campers are shown proper means of maintaining tidiness and comfort in their canvas homes and are provided nearby shower houses with a heavy push for sustainability.

If Nor’Wester Camp sounds like it could be a good fit, be sure to check it out for your own summer camp experience and get a better look on their website. Enjoy looking forward to your next summer camp excursion and, as always, thanks for reading!
