Ethan V. on the Camp Scene

Hey, Camp Lovers!

We love summer camp too. That’s why we love hearing your stories from camp in our annual ‘Share Your Camp Story’ Contest at Everything Summer Camp. Your stories were fantastic and it’s such a fun time reading through them! Get a look at each submission as I post them one-by-one right here on the Blog!

Today’s post comes from Ethan V. who wrote in to tell us about his time at Pine Cove Camp, nestled on the banks of beautiful Lake Palestine. Get a look at his submission about this last summer at camp:

There are so many great things about Pine Cove. I learned more about who ILook into Pine Cove for your upcoming summer adventure! am, my strengths and how those are really cool, about God and how much He loves us! I also love that we are having so much fun that it doesn't matter if we wear the same thing over and over. As a matter of fact, it became a whole big thing that I wore the exact same pair of shorts every single day for the entire week that I was at camp. Pine Cove posts pictures each day while we are at camp so our parents can see us. My mom would post them on Facebook and she began to notice that I was wearing the same blue shorts every day. All her friends began to watch her posts every day waiting to see if she would post another picture of me in my infamous blue shorts. One of her friends ended up making a collage of the week's pictures of me in my blue shorts and they became known as "The Blue Infinity Shorts". The local Christian radio station featured my pictures and the infinity shorts on the radio station's Facebook page, discussed me on the air and Pine Cove asked my dad for permission to use the pictures for training. I became famous while I was gone and my mom is getting all kinds of suggestions about what to do with the infamous blue infinity shorts after I outgrow them. Some people want us to give them to a younger kid. Some think I should be a model for Land's End swimwear (that's where we got the shorts). Some think my mom should frame the shorts and display them in our house. It has been really funny and I kind of like being famous with my blue shorts.

Hey, Ethan! Happy to hear that camp at the Pine Cove was such a blast!—a BLUE blast, I guess! I’m glad you’re settling in nicely as you discover your newfound fame. If I were in your shorts, I’d have them framed and hung once I outgrew them. If you stay in the public eye till then, maybe you could sell tickets!

Funny that you got so much attention over your Blue Infinity Shorts—it was only A WEEK! At least good things come with fame! I’m glad to hear that Pine Cove offered you a clearer understanding of yourself and your relationship with God! Thanks for sharing your experience and your fame, Ethan! As for anybody else interested in Pine Cove, give it a closer look for yourself some time and, as always, thanks for reading!
