Melissa and Doug Bernstein first started making toys for kids and educational games in the garage of the home where Doug grew up. His parents still lived there too so the couple had to be careful not to disturb them in their everyday life. That was more than 25 years ago in 1988.

Hey, Summer Camp Aficionados!

Today is the day of our country’s independence. Way back when in a time that we only know from history books, the people who lived in “The New World” (more modernly known as the United States of America) still felt the rule of Great Britain. Independence Day (or the Fourth of July as we commonly call it) is the day that we adopted our Declaration of Independence in 1776.

For 237 years, we have been celebrating our freedom from the rule of any other country but ourselves. That’s why we make it a pretty big deal once a year to enjoy our freedom on the Fourth of July.

As we’ve all seen the fun of Fourth of Julys past, we, as Americans, like to go all out to celebrate our Independence Day. We march in parades, we have carnivals, fairs, picnics, concerts, baseball games (America’s favorite pastime), we have get-togethers with our friends and families, political speeches are made with ceremonies and gatherings. And, of course, we end the whole day with a bang!

Fireworks!

They’re loud. They’re bright. They’re an essential part of our Fourth of July tradition. Fireworks have been around for over 1000 years. Originally, fireworks were made in India by filling bamboo cases or rolled-up paper tubes with explosives. The loud bang they make when they go off was initially thought to scare off evil spirits.

Today I want to talk to you about all of the different laundry bags you can find at Everything Summer Camp; we carry a variety of fabrics, styles, and brand names. First there’s the classy laundry bag for camp clothes—Mint, then the fun Bliss brand laundry bag, we carry Nylon laundry bags of different colors and patterns, we have cool Thread Art Fashion laundry bags, and a basic Mesh laundry bag.

First of all, I’ll tell you about our Mint and Bliss brand laundry bags. These bags are very stylish and very cool with their fun colors and complimentary patterns. These bags are high quality and definitely worth the higher price. However, one thing to keep in mind when using these bags is that your clothes won’t dry as quickly inside these nylon and polyester bags as they would in, say, our Mesh laundry bag.

Our Nylon and Thread Art Fashion laundry bags too make for very cool, very fun designs to sport on your laundry bag. The colors are cool and the patterns are fun. Labeling your clothes and other belongings is definitely a necessary evil of camp, especially for camps that offer laundry services. But most importantly, labeling is the best way to ensure that what you take to camp is what you bring home after camp.

When it comes to labeling, people want to get the most efficient method. Unfortunately, there is no one labeling method that’s the best. It all depends on what you’re trying to label. That’s why we offer a handful of different labeling items at Everything Summer Camp.

If speed and efficiency is the only aspect you care about, then the Clothing Stamp is definitely the method for you. Our stamps let you brand a surface with your name in a literal second! With black ink, however, you can only hit your light-colored clothing and other camp gear.
