Shower Caddy

Posted on

If you haven’t been before, you might not know to bring a shower caddy of wrap around towel! These are both VERY important. The shower caddy makes it supper easy to carry your shampoo, conditioner, body wash, etc, to the bathroom and back, even if the shower is in the cabin, I recommend one. Also a wrap around towel is very important because you will be holding many things on the way from the shower, so a wrap around towel makes you not have to hold your towel up!

Egg Crate Foam

Posted on

If you are going to camp for the first time you probably don’t know what type of bedding to bring. Normally, the camp mattresses aren’t very thick, so if your camp allows you to, I recommend getting an egg crate to put on top of the mattress. I also have a mattress topper. I recommend getting 2 sheet sets, even if you only go for a week, because you never know what could happen. I also think that having either a warm blanket or quilt for on top of your bed is very important to keep you warm!

Towels

Pack shower and bath towels that are somewhat thin and will dry quickly. If you are in a humid environment, thick, plush towels will never air-dry in between uses.

Collect or buy stickers from various places you’ve traveled or shopped and decorate your trunk. Stickers will also help you identify your water bottles easily, although I also recommend labels on everything!

String Lights

Consider packing fun string lights, battery operated clip-on fans or reading lights for bunks too.  Your bunk is your special space so decorating with pictures and stuff from home might also help prevent homesickness.  (Remember tacks or tape for photos).  A pack of Command hooks could come in handy too.

Accessories

Pack lots of fun dress-up accessories. Camp brings out the silliness in everyone and cabin spirit is important. Pack bead, necklaces, colored sunglasses, bandanas, wigs, hats, knee socks, face paint, and variety of colored shirts so all campers can dress in one color for events. White shirts or socks are sometimes used to decorate for camp spirit as well.
