Separate Essential Items From Optional Items

Posted on

When unpacking at camp, separate the daily use items from optional equipment like sleeping bags, sports equipment etc. keep the items your child will in frequently use stored in the trunk underneath their bunk. this ensures there’s plenty of space for all the basic items they’ll need and lead to less overwhelm when looking for specific things.

Separate Clothes Using Packing Cubes

Posted on

When packing your trunk, use packing cubes! Separating clothes into separate cubes makes it so easy for your kids to find what they need quickly. When packing for my son, I like to fold matching outfits together inside of my largest cube. That way he figures out what matches during the first week of camp without having to coordinate on his own and can repeat the same outfit combinations after laundry day.

Clothing Cubes

Use clothing cubes so when your child goes rummaging through their trunks the clothes don't go everywhere the first day.

Color Coordinating Packing Cubes

Posted on

I love using packing cubes to pack my children. Each child has a set of packing cubes in different colors so that I know whose are whose without having to think about it. I put all the pants in one cube, all the shirts and tanks in another, socks, underwear, and bras in another, swimwear and towels in another...etc.
When they get to camp, they use the cubes until the first laundry so they never have to unpack! It also makes for a neat and organized bunk...for awhile anyways!

Utilize Ziplock Bags

Posted on

We find it very helpful especially for younger campers to pack each days clothes in a Ziplock bag. Each bag has shirt, shorts, socks, and undergarments. They can just grab a bag and go. Also keeps trunk or cubby very organized.
