Throughout the years, the nameplate has been the seal of ownership displayed on an office door, a work desk, and, yes, footlocker trunks. Reminiscent of the nameplate on a briefcase, the smaller stature of the Basic Nameplate puts out a message of modesty and professionalism.
Our smallest option in nameplates, this was originally the ONLY size we offered. Back then they were all made on a silver plate that was covered in a photosensitive layer of black gunk called anodized aluminum. We exposed the nameplates to UV light with a negative overlaid so that the part of the black stuff that was exposed through the negative was baked on. The rest of the gunk was simply wiped away once the plates were off the black light.
Your name only appeared in black with just a single font and the silver background of the plate. They had a simple charm about them…. Very, very simple.
