Hey, Camp Fans!

The recommended camp outfitter for more than 270 summer camps, we here at Everything Summer Camp are proud to work with every single one of them! And we love singing the praises of the many camps with whom we’ve developed a working relationship too. That’s why today I’m shining our camp spotlight on the magnificent Birch Rock Camp for Boys.

Birch Rock Camp for Boys has sat on the shores of tranquil Lake McWain in Waterford Maine for nearly one hundred years—since 1926. Proud to be the smallest boys camp in the state of Maine, Birch Rock only takes 90 boys each summer to create a close-knit and deep-rooted community every season.

Birch Rock offers a plethora of incredible activities such as Baseball, Basketball, Lacrosse, Soccer, and Tennis for sports as well as Archery and Riflery, Biking, Ropes Course, and Outdoor Skills for adventures. In the water, they offer Canoeing, Kayaking, Windsurfing, Sailing, Swimming, and more. Boys at Birch Rock can also take some pretty cool classes that focus on Arts & Crafts, Drawing, Painting, Pottery, Shop, and more!

For downtime at camp, Birch Rock boys can enjoy browsing all the options available in the camp’s cozy library in the woods. Find some great reads here and, on special occasions, partake in card game or board game with your camp friends.

With less than a hundred boys each summer, Birch Rock Camp assigns just four campers to stay in each one of their cozy cabins. Birch Rock Camp has a great, knowledgeable, and welcoming staff!

Besides the comfortable cabins of Birch Rock’s Lower Camp, Birch Rock offers awesome facilities like their outdoor areas of courts and baseball diamond and soccer field, Ropes Course, Biking Trails, and their beautiful Lake McWain waterfront. They have the Woodshop, Boathouse, Health Lodge, and much more. Get a good look at Birch Rock Camp on their website by clicking right here and, as always, thanks for reading!

Hey, Camp Fans!

Let’s take a moment here on the Everything Summer Camp Blog today and highlight the next among the many summer camps with whom we’re proud to have developed a wonderful relationship. For today’s Summer Camp Spotlight post, we’re fixing our light to one of our Canadian camps just above the eastern segment of the Upper Peninsula.

When Bill Slick saw his go-to hunting and fishing camp’s property was up for sale he called his Uncle Woody who always spoke of getting land to start a summer camp. This was the perfect place for their camp, Camp Bil(Bill Slick)-O-Wood(Uncle Woody).

Found in the pristine north woods of Ontario, Bil-O-Wood provides 160 acres of seemingly endless, beautiful wilderness and fantastic playground. Camp Bil-O-Wood is a place where campers learn, grow, and take in the Great Outdoors.  The property, located in Blind River, Ontario is surrounded by three clear Canadian lakes.

Campers headed to Camp Bil-O-Wood can look forward to awesome activities such as Archery, Baseball/Softball, Basketball, Field Hockey, Football, Frisbee, Gymnastics, Lacrosse, Rugby, Soccer, Track, Tennis, Volleyball, Weight Training, and more. And that’s just on the land! Bil-O-Wood is blessed with three spring-fed and clear lakes which provide for campers to experience some freshwater fun with activities like Boating, Canoeing, Fishing Sailing, Skiing, Swimming, Tubing, Water Football, Water Polo, Waterskiing, and more.

Also available for fun pastimes, performances, and adventures, Bil-O-Wood offers activities like Arts and Crafts, Dramatics, Frog & Turtle Hunts, Karaoke, Music, Nature Hikes, Nature Study, Painting, Pottery, Saturday Night Dances, Skits and Shows, Woodworking, Writing, and more.

The camp welcomes 130 campers each season from ages 7 to 17. With a dozen rustic-style cabins, built among the beautiful birch trees and the shores of Bass Lake, they house 10 to 11 campers in each one along with a camp counselor. While they look rustic, they also are equipped with electricity, running water, and toilet stalls. Also shower houses are all close by the cabins.

With a gorgeous campus and great facilities that complement the natural beauty surrounding the camp, give Bil-O-Wood a closer look for yourself. Take a look at their website when you click right here and maybe you’ll find yourself there one day for your own summer camp stay. Till next time, Camp Fans. And, as always, thanks for reading.

Hey, Camp Fans!

Let’s take a moment here on the Everything Summer Camp Blog today and highlight the next among the many summer camps with whom we’re proud to have developed a wonderful relationship. For today’s Summer Camp Spotlight post, we’re fixing our light to one of the few land-locked states that are still part of the eastern coast: Vermont.

Situated just east of the Adirondack Mountains and Lake Champlain, you’ll find 150 acres where Camp Betsey Cox along with her brother camp for boys, Camp Sangamon have been established for nearly the last hundred years. Each summer the camps welcome roughly a hundred girls and a hundred boys to give them a great summer camp experience.

Known as the camp with a song in its heart, Camp Betsey Cox is a singing camp. However, there’s much more to do than just sing! Enjoy Swimming, Canoeing, and Kayaking in Burr Pond. Go Horseback Riding or enjoy Backpacking Trips, Campcraft, a Ropes Course, Rock Climbing, and more. Try your hand at skills like Farming and Gardening as well as Archery and Tennis! There are plenty of team sports to play like Basketball, Rugby, Softball, Volleyball, and more. And get your dose of indoor activities with Pottery, Weaving, Woodworking, and Arts and Crafts time.

Camp Betsey Cox is equipped to provide their campers not only tons of fun, but a places to sleep and eat, and just hang out. Set up with rustic cabins that have nearby wash houses, a dining lodge, an activities center, tennis court, working farm and garden, and a swimming pond, their campgrounds are absolutely beautiful.

The camp’s wood frame cabins all have comfy canvas bunk beds, screened fireplaces, and solar lanterns for lighting after dark. There’s no electricity in any of the cabins which encourages a connection to nature. Each cabin fits eight to nine girls and is staffed with two counselors as well as a third-year leadership girl.

If Camp Betsey Cox sounds like the place for you, give it a closer look and check out the website by clicking right here. As always, thanks for reading, Camp Fans!

Camp Bear Track also has a pool, however, the waters of Greers Ferry Lake in the Bear Track backyard are always preferable.

Bear River Ranch Report

Hey, Camp Fans!

It’s that time again to take a moment here on the Everything Summer Camp Blog to highlight one of the many summer camps with whom we’re proud to have developed a wonderful relationship. For our first Summer Camp Spotlight of the new year, we’re fixing our light on our friends in the heart of Missouri where we find Bear River Ranch.

This beautiful summer camp is located on 300 acres nestled away in the Ozarks. Bear River Ranch is used exclusively by Cub Creek Science Camp throughout the summer season. Learn, collaborate, and have fun in a beautiful outdoor setting of Bear River Ranch!

A well-rounded, educational experience, you’ll learn all about the natural world of physics when you execute a run-through the Ropes Course at Bear River Ranch. Or brush up on your chemistry in the Bear River kitchen! Get your geology lessons in in their gemstone quarry. You’ll even have the opportunity for zoology with Bear River’s very own private zoo of more than a hundred species of animals!

That’s right! Bear River has their own zoo for their campers to enjoy; take a llama for a walk, make friends with a fox, give a lemur its lunch, hold a snake or lizard, and plenty of other fun things with furry (or not so furry) creatures.

On top of all that, you practice your Archery and Riflery, Hiking Trails, Survival Skills, and Spelunking for summer adventures. Engross yourself in fun crafts like friendship bracelets, tie-dye, pottery, ceramics, photography, and more.

As mentioned above, this ranch provides miles of hiking trails, Archery and Riflery range, a gemstone quarry, and Ropes Course. But besides that, they also offer a craft lodge, fishing ponds, game pavilion, the Bear Den (which is a large multipurpose building), a newly constructed dining hall that comfortably seats 350 people.

As for their living quarters, Bear River Ranch boasts 15 cabins which are all set up with heat and air conditioning. Each cabin sleeps 20 folks which means Bear River invites 300 campers for their summer sessions with Cub Creek Science. At this ranch, campers aren’t just suited for overnight stays, but treated to an unforgettable summer camp experience! If Bear River Ranch sounds like the place for you, give it a closer look and check out the Cub  Creek Science website by clicking right here. As always, thanks for reading, Camp Fans!
