Hey, Summer Campers!

A rough estimate of 250 summer camps work with us here at Everything Summer Camp and it’s our pleasure to tell you about what fantastic camps they are. That’s why we shine our summer camp spotlight on those with whom we’ve developed great relationships. Today, our spotlight moves to North Carolina to shine on the lovely Camp Mondamin Boys Camp.

Found in the mountains of Western North Carolina on the shores of the 350 acre Lake Summit. Between Camp Mondamin and their sister camp, Green Cove, they own about 800 acres of wooded campground. Mondamin as well as Green Cove campers have easy access to long trails through Pisgah National Forest and Smoky Mountain National Park.

This is a camp that’s been showing boys a fantastically fun-filled summer stay for more than 95 years. With such spectacular grounds to explore and enjoy, the activities at the camp are concentrated around the woods, the water, and other natural settings.

The campers are presented with the opportunity for such awesome activities like Swimming, Canoeing, Kayaking, Sailing, Horseback Riding, Mountain Biking, Mountaineering, Tennis, Wilderness Trips, as well as a Nature Program which educates young men on the natural world all around them.

Sharing a cabin, with just five or six other boys along with a cabin leader, cabins at Camp Mondamin are certainly adequate on space and comfort. Other camp facilities besides the cabins are the three tennis courts, a barn and three riding rings, a craft shop, a 60 ft. climbing tower, an indoor rifle range, and a gymnasium with an indoor climbing wall.

Hey, Summer Campers!

We talk enough about ourselves here on the Everything Summer Camp Blog, it’s good to give someone else a turn once in a while. That’s why we turn our spotlight to awesome brand names that we offer as well as celebrities who are also former summer campers. And we like to talk up the camps with whom we’ve formed excellent working relationships.

Camp Rockmont is a shining example of one of these camps. Located 15 miles east of Asheville, North Carolina, Rockmont boasts 550 acres that are surrounded by thousands of acres of National Forest wilderness. Near the town Black Mountain, Rockmont shows kids a beautiful mountainous landscape covered in foliage and home to the 20-acre Lake Eden.

Every year since 1956, Rockmont Christian summer camp has been the summer home to 1500 boys from all across the globe. The original lodging was built in the 1800s by the famous-for-his-time, developer E.W. Grove—made for use as a family retreat. In the 1930s, the land along with the historical property was sold to Black Mountain College. But the creative college closed in 1956 and became the site for Camp Rockmont.

At Camp Rockmont, campers are given the chance to achieve a certain skill level in tons of different activities such as Archery, Basketball, Capture-the-Flag, Soccer, Tennis, Horseback Riding, Mountain Biking, Rock Climbing, Riflery, Outdoor Skills, Campouts, Fishing, Talent Shows, Relay Races, Canoeing, Sailing, Swim Sports, Rocketry, Photography, Guitar, Ceramics, Bible Study, and such a great deal more.

Facilities at Camp Rockmont are incomparable in the world of summer camp with a beautiful lake, four athletic fields, a gymnasium, and beautiful buildings that fit the scene well. But much more than just gorgeous property and a million fun things to do, Camp Rockmont guides its campers to focus specifically on physical, emotional, social, and spiritual growth.

Hey, Summer Camp Fans!

Of course we love singing our own praises here at Everything Summer Camp—and we sing those praises a lot! But we also like to share the spotlight with other organizations too whether they’re brand names whose fun products are available on our site or the fun factories themselves—summer camps. Today we’re shining our spotlight on Camp Greystone for girls.

Hey, Camp Fans!

We love being the convenient stop before the camp session begins here at Everything Summer Camp–the recommended camp outfitter for roughly 250 summer camps across the country. And proud of our relationship with each of them, we love singing their praises on our Blog. That’s why today we’re shining our camp spotlight on the much-deserving Camp La Junta Boys Camp.
Tucked away on 200 acres between the scenic rolling landscape of Texas Hill Country and the pristine Guadalupe riverfront, Camp La Junta sits among wide open spaces. The beautiful, spacious campground is naturally shaded thanks to the ubiquitous cypress and oak trees.

Never a dull moment, at La Junta, they keep their campers pretty busy throughout the summer sessions with awesome activities such as Horseback Riding, Archery, Mountain Biking, Riflery, Canoeing, Swimming, Scuba Diving, Athletics, Go-Cart Racing, Arts & Crafts, Basketball, Soccer, Softball, Football, Tennis, Fishing, Sailing, Kayaking, and even more!

The campers’ cabins may look rustic on the outside, but inside, they are roomy and remodeled as of 1990, offering comfort throughout the nights. They each provide a full bathroom with hot water available for the twelve campers as well as a cabin leader and leader-in-training.

Aside from their 19 wood paneled cabins, the campground is complemented with a conveniently laid out campus including the Old West Dining Hall, their all-weather recreation hall that provides air conditioning when it’s too hot out, an open air theater where campfires are had as well as Sunday services and awards ceremonies, horse stables, a covered activity pavilion of 6000 square feet, open fields, and much, much more.
