You Got it at Wyonegonic!

Hey, Summer Camp Fans!

Of course we love singing our own praises here at Everything Summer Camp (we do it all the time!). But we also like to share the spotlight with other organizations too. Whether they’re the hip brand names whose cool products are available on our website or the summer camps themselves, we love giving them a little time to shine on our Blog. Today we’re swinging our spotlight to the east coast on Wyonegonic Camps for girls.

Wyonegonic Camps are a great place for young women to discover a different side of life.

Girls at Wyonegonic from ages 8 to 18 are treated to 700 acres of pine forest as well as two miles of shoreline where they can get a great sense of privacy and isolation. Wyonegonic is the oldest camp for girls in the country that has run without skipping a beat since 1902.

Three separate camps comprise Wyonegonic Camp and each one is designed for the individual needs and interest of the campers. Each of the camps form their own intimate community of a size that’s just right for creating meaningful friendships!

Wyonegonic is a camp where girls learn about themselves in a non-competitive atmosphere and enjoy the beauty of friendship in the simplicity of the outdoors.

They enjoy activities like Archery and Riflery, Basketball, Tennis, and Volleyball. There are Challenge Courses and Outdoor Skills, Wilderness Trips, Horseback Riding, and fun on the water, like Kayaking, Sailing, Swimming, Windsurfing, and more! Feed your creative soul at Wyonegonic too! From Paper Mache to Pottery as well as Music, Dance, Drama, and much more!

Cabin life is rustic and simple. The screen windows admit the breeze from the water inside for an incredibly pleasant living quarters (shutters close at night and in poor weather). With no electricity, campers and staff alike use flashlights and battery-powered lanterns after sundown. And, not far from the cabins, are camper shower facilities and a toilets.

Get Your Camp Fix at Camp Lenox

Hey, Camp Aficionados!

If your kid has expressed interest in attending summer camp in the coming camp season, visit the Summer Camp Spotlight posts on the Blog to peruse potential camps where you can send your curious kid. I’m shining my spotlight on a great camp for boys near the southwestern corner of Massachusetts. Check out Camp Lenox.

The current director, Rich Moss first started at this camp as a 10-year-old camper himself Camp Lenox is a hot spot for summer fun!whose father—Monty ‘Coach’ Moss—just bought the campgrounds. Enjoy the same 170 acres of beautiful New England forest neighboring the awesome water of Shaw Pond that Rich enjoyed when he was a camper back in the 1960’s!

Have fun playing lots of different sports at Camp Lenox such as Baseball/Softball, Basketball, Cheerleading, Dance, Football, Gymnastics, Hockey (on wheels and on ice), Lacrosse, Soccer, Team Handball, Tennis, Volleyball, Wrestling, Yoga, and more. Kickapoo Kamp Camaraderie

Hey, Camp People!

Working with more than 270 summer camps, we take our opportunities to sing the praises of camps all across the nation. Here on the Everything Summer Camp Blog, I make an effort to frequently highlight summer camps who we feel deserve a special mention. Today I’m swinging the Summer Camp Spotlight southward to the Lone Star State of Texas.

For more than 90 years, girls have escaped to the heart of the Texas Hill Country where Check out Kickapoo Kamp for your daughter.they find the rustic campgrounds of Kickapoo Kamp. Nine miles southwest of Kerrville, Kickapoo sits 2,000 feet above sea level for a clear view of the surrounding area. The crystal clear Turtle Creek runs through the campgrounds—a spring-fed stream that flows into the Guadalupe River.

Enjoy fun activities like Aerobic Dance, Archery, Arts & Crafts, Beauty Spa, Campcraft, Canoeing, Cheerleading, Dance, Drama, Flags, Fitness, Gymnastics, Nature Exploration, Ping Pong, Riflery, Tennis, Western Riding, and more. Kickapoo also offers an awesome water sports program in their spring-fed Turtle Creek where kids can go Swimming, Water Skiing, go down the Water Slide, and more.

When you arrive at Kickapoo, you’ll see the “Lodge” front-and-center of the property as well as the camp Dining Hall. Along the layout, you’ll find the Activity Building that they utilize for activities like Arts & Crafts, Dance, Ping-Pong, and more. They boast Archery and Riflery ranges. They have an arena and barn for horse-riding. There are secluded spots for overnight camping cookouts and more on top of that.

Kickapoo Kamp has twelve cabins and each has its own bathroom facility. The cabins are built to accommodate 8 – 12 girls as well as a pair of cabin leaders. Cabins are filled with girls of nearest ages in order to give them the most comfortable living quarters where your camper is sure to develop a sense of camaraderie and connectedness.

Fun and Free at Camp Illahee!

Hey, Camp Folks!

We work with more than 270 summer camps across the United States here at Everything Summer Camp so you can imagine how much we love to sing the praises of all these great camps. This Blog makes an effort to frequently shine our spotlight on the next camp—we always have more to write about. And today we’re swinging our Summer Camp Spotlight over to Western North Carolina’s mountains where we find Camp Illahee.

In the Cherokee language, the word ‘Illahee’ translates to ‘heavenly world’. A fitting name, Check out the fun everyone's having at Camp Illahee.Illahee sits on 110 acres of forested land that features mountains, a natural lake, rustic amenities, and positive atmosphere for your girl’s summer stay away from home.

Girls enjoy a slew of sports, arts, and other activities at Camp Illahee. Summers there are brimming with fun Team Sports as well as Swimming, Tennis, Horseback Riding, Marksmanship, Field Hockey, Lacrosse, Gymnastics, and more. Get adventurous on Illahee’s Ropes Course, Rock Climbing, Canoeing, Kayaking, Trail Hiking, Cookouts, and Overnight Excursions. Hone your creative skills with Ceramics, Cooking, Dance, Drama, Watercolor, Weaving, Woodworking, and more!

Surveying the grounds, you’ll find the Dining Hall and McLeod Lodge front and center. Nurses nearby the cabins are next as well as a cool Wishing Well. Cabins overlook the lake and big red barn. Elsewhere, find the Outdoor Basketball Courts, Tennis Courts, Climbing Tower, Ropes Course, Riflery and Archery Range, Busy Bee Art Studio, Woodshop, Gymnasium and Rec Lodge.

Do It at Camp Stewart

Hey, Camp People!

Working with more than 270 summer camps, we here at Everything Summer Camp love to sing the praises of camps all across the nation. This Blog makes an effort to frequently shine our spotlight on the next camp. Today we’re swinging our Summer Camp Spotlight to the renowned Texas Hill Country down South.Get the most from your camp experience at Camp Stewart for Boys.

There we find Camp Stewart.

Stewart spreads over 500 acres of rugged Texas Hill Country, and include both sides of over a mile of the Guadalupe River—a spring-fed, crystal-clear river. Camp Stewart is situated on both sides of the river in a valley between both hills and limestone bluffs. Natural cedar, giant cypress, and various oaks are abundant, as well as all of the native wildlife around the area.

Stewart has a plethora of fun things to do such as Archery, Arts & Crafts, Camp Craft, Canoeing, Ceramics, Climbing Wall, Fencing, Golf, Horseback. Outdoor Cooking, Riflery, Sports, Tennis, and more! Or cool off at the waterfront with awesome ways to have fun like their Double Slide, Billy Bob Sled, Basic Water Rescue, Blob, Tarzan Rope, Water Skiing, Tubing, Zipline, as well as regular-ol’ Swimming.

Among a plethora of other attractions, Camp Stewart features Tennis Courts, Soccer Fields, a Football Field, Baseball Diamonds, Golf Greens, Riflery and Archery Ranges, Horse Stables for more than 100 beautiful beasts. And there’s also the Crafts Lodge where campers are provided a relaxing, open-air, breezy atmosphere where they can work on cool, creative projects!

Another frequented facility is the Camp Stewart Dining Hall—a comfortable environment with tables and benches to seat each and every Stewart camper for breakfast, lunch, and dinner unless it happens to be one of the weekly cookouts.

Lastly, the 23 cabins with indoor plumbing are of native rock and cedar are built in the same, familiar ‘Texas style’ to complement the beautiful facilities and majestic, natural surroundings.
