Since it was our son’s first year at a camp and being away from home ever, we wanted to ensure that all his clothes came back home, especially knowing how unorganized he is. It wasn’t until I picked him up that I realized how important the bag was because not only did it help him stay organized but it also helped the counselors keep him organized. That is definitely important and something not thought of, helping counselors with cabin clean up. It made it easy to know where to put his dirty clothes and he was excited to see that it matched his luggage. It is a great bag. It kept the stink from his camp clothes inside the bag on the way home and I wasn’t worried to wash it as his name was embroidered on it. Most personalized items are always screen printed and names do not last long after being washed. This was definitely a nice surprise.
The shoulder strap should only be used if it isn’t full and heavy as it isn’t reinforced and would rip, (meant for light loads) so I carried it from the top which wasn’t a problem and I didn’t mind. I heard it start to rip at the seams when I was unloading my car, so I grabbed it from the top and carried it in. It was heavy because I found wet clothes in his trunk and had to put the majority, 6 days worth, of his clothes in the bag because they got wet too. Again I don’t recommend picking it up from the shoulder strap if it is heavy or full. Having light loads not a problem with the strap. When I picked him up his counselors said wow he was very prepared and it was nice to have his name on everything . (Tape or markers not needed) After re-washing everything, I was pleasantly surprised that he came back with all his clothes plus one extra sock.
This bag was well worth the purchase and I know he will have it for many camps to come.
