Hey, Camp Fans!
Our Summer Camp Spotlights are great introductions to some of the breathtaking camps with whom we, here at Everything Summer Camp, have developed a relationship. We love telling about the fun times and the community spirit of these camps. Shining the spotlight on camps across the country at random, today we’re shining a spotlight on Camp DeSoto all girls camp.
Located in northern Alabama in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains, Camp DeSoto is a home away from home, nestled among 185 acres of woods on the crest of Lookout Mountain. From 8 to 16 years old, girls find friendship, foresight, and—of course—fun at Camp DeSoto for a full month of summer.
DeSoto certainly knows how to make your camp experience an unforgettable time. Activities vary by the age of the campers, including: Archery, Canoeing, Climbing, Crafts, Creative Writing, Dance, Drama, Guitar, Horseback Riding, Photography, Riflery, Soccer, Swimming, Tennis, Tumbling, Ultimate Frisbee, Volleyball, Wilderness, and a much, much more.
Campers are also given the option to take one period of unstructured free time for themselves each day—time that they can soak up the summer camp lifestyle for themselves however they please.
Camp DeSoto campers feel right at home in their accommodating facilities. Life is better in the woods! Simple cabins offer comfort and convenience. Made up of wooden walls, screened windows, and metal cots, Camp DeSoto cabins deliver the perfect atmosphere for their campers’ summer visits. Sinks, toilets, and showers are always accessible and well-maintained.At Camp DeSoto, girls are encouraged to learn from each other and develop their relationships with themselves, others, and God.
