There are two Latches, one located right of center and one left of center, on the front of the trunk. There are two pieces in the replacement part kit, the top portion of the latch that attaches to the lid of the trunk and the bottom portion of the latch that attaches to the base of the trunk. Six screws secure the two pieces to the trunk.
This part can replace any of the following: RP50, RP52
What's in the replacement kit:
- (1) Top Latch
- (1) Bottom Latch
- (6) Screws + one extra screw

Excellent service to replace broken trunk hinges.
One of our trunk latches broke last year and this replacement was shipped quickly, and was easy to install!
It was easy to make a claim and the new part arrived quickly.
Ordered replacement parts for broken latch on trunk had to pay shipping but parts were free. Unfortunately the parts did not fit the screw holes for the trunk. Trunk was purchased from ESC 9 years ago, I was surprised ESC did not look at my trunk when it was originally purchased and made sure to send correct parts based on age of trunk especially since everything summer camp warrants their trunks for replacement parts.
We apologize for this issue. We have a very simple solution for the problem. The replacement latch can be moved over slightly from the original holes and create new ones. The latch will cover the original holes and will not be seen. You can also fill in the holes with wood putty and let dry before you screw in the replacement latch.
