Sierra Designs Women's 2.0 Microlight Rain Jacket
The rain saturates the earth to wash and cleanse and bring back to life. Gathering clouds don’t mean you have to shut yourself in. It can actually be incredibly invigorating to experience the world when the skies open up and let loose a good downpour. A summer camp stay isn't complete without getting caught in the rain. Check it off your camp itinerary without getting drenched in the Women’s 2.0 Microlight Rain Jacket from Sierra Designs.
Named so for a reason, the Women’s 2.0 Microlight Rain Jacket is Sierra Designs’ lightest piece of rainwear. In fact, it’s so light you might forget you even have it on—great not just for wearing at camp, but for packing along as well! Despite how light it is, this Jacket is constructed with 2-Layer recycled polyester so it keeps you dry with zero difficulty.
PFCs are man-made chemicals that were commonly used in DWR coating not long ago. They’ve since been found to be harmful to the environment so Sierra Designs steers clear. They use new technologies to make an effective water repellent that’s also breathable without the use of these nasty chemicals.
This Rain Jacket is critically seam sealed to keep vulnerable areas of the jacket from leaking so you’re sure to stay dry where it matters most! The Women’s 2.0 Microlight is given sealed protection around the seams of the hood, neck, shoulders, and armholes.
For further comfort, this jacket offers an adjustable hood as well as zippered hand pockets. It also provides for further sealing and breathability with its drawcord adjustable hem for keeping out moisture and its back vent that keeps a cool and dry airflow moving without you even noticing!
Given a 5k waterproof and 5k breathable fabric rating means this Women’s Rain Jacket is suitable to give you the proper protection for prolonged time spent in rainy or even snowy conditions. Stay happy in the rainiest days the weather can whip up this summer season in the Women’s 2.0 Microlight Rain Jacket.
The Sierra Designs Story
Founded in 1965 by Bob Swanson and George Marks, Sierra Designs was built on the basis of providing excellent gear to adventurous spirits from all walks, whether you’re an expert thru-hiker or a first-year summer camper. Bob and George first met as co-workers at The Ski Hut, an outdoor equipment retailer in Berkeley, where the two often dreamed of owning their own business. This outdoorsy duo got their wish one day when a wealthy benefactor gave them the money they needed to seed their new company: Sierra Designs. The Sierra Designs family is still composed of outdoorsy folks who all happily to do their part to protect our environment. For them, it means making products with as little impact to the environment as possible such as using recycled material and creating an environmentally-friendly water repellent that’s PFC-Free. As they like to say, “Think outside, because happiness is found in the adventure.”
